| Heather Jefts grew up around dogs. "My parents always had at least one, usually more. In high school, I worked at a local pet store, caring for birds, reptiles and rodents. We trimmed birds' wings and nails, too. After college, I was hired by a large vet practice in Columbia, Maryland. I worked as a technician and receptionist. My husband and I moved to North Carolina and I stayed at home with our first child. My husband's job change brought us to Austin, and I started working for Dr Habbinga in the fall of 2003, at his old practice. After 2 years I decided to take a year off to stay at home with our second son. When the year was up, I went back to work for Dr Habbinga, and when Animal Care Clinic opened in January of 2007, I came too! " |

Vicky Paschich retired from the University of Texas Library after 34 years. She is now pursuing her late-found dream of working with animals in a veterinary clinic. She adopted her first dog in 2001, and her life was forever changed. A whole new world was opened up for her. She now has 2 German Shepherds, Snout and Snub. Hobbies are world music (reggae, calypso, and soca) and traveling the world (mostly the Caribbean, but also such exotic places as Egypt).
